Let me introduce you to David Bliss, Chief Technology Officer.

How long have you been a part of the Apex Technology Management team?

17 Years

Why did you join Apex?

I was looking for a place where I could affect exponentially more organizations and lives through the implementation of trust, education, technology solutions and win win trusting relationships.

What is the most interesting or favorite part of your job?

I love working with teams that are aligned with singular vision and focus and aren’t afraid to work hard, flex a little and support other team members to get solutions implemented. I love seeing the end results, celebrating those results and enjoying the process of getting there.

What are some cool projects you’ve seen our clients do with Apex’s services/products?

We built a mobile satellite network for Nor-Cal EMS to allow emergency responders access to satellite internet in emergency response locations with no cell or internet services. The solution included secure internet, wireless, laptop computing and printing capabilities. This solution had a wireless bridge functionality that allowed the satellite to be positioned on a hill and beam internet services into valley areas where no internet was accessible.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Seeing the success of organizations and individuals through my efforts.  It’s amazing to see hospitals, local governments more secure, more stable and more successful because of the solutions we help them deploy.

When you think of the Apex culture, what 3 words come to mind?

What are your hobbies outside of Apex?

Hiking, mountaineering, rock climbing, ice climbing, shooting (Redding Gun Club Trap League), art-drawing, music-guitar, sports -basketball, volleyball, running, tennis, etc, and trying out cool new technology.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself.

I grew up hiking the Appalachian and Adirondack mountains on the east coast.  Since my youth I have summited the tallest mountain in the continental US (Whitney 14,500’), Mount Shasta (14,000), the tallest mountain in Europe (Mount Elbrus 19,000’) in the south of Russia, camped at Everest base camp and summited Mount Lobuche (20,000’) near Everest in Nepal.
