Let me introduce you to Brian McCaleb, Security Engineer:

“Brian McCaleb joined our security team in 2021 as a Security Engineer and has earned four (4) new certifications since joining our team! He has been a tremendous asset to our team and is a great mentor to the new Cybersecurity analysts that have joined the team after him. He has the sense of urgency & skillset needed to tackle a new event or incident. How long have you been a part of the Apex Technology Management team?

1 Year

What made you want to join Apex:

Apex and its Cybersecurity Division has a unique approach to Cybersecurity in the MSSP space that was refreshing to me. The customer obsessed attitude combined with our defense-in-depth offerings was an attractive combination and I wanted to be part of it.

What is the most interesting or favorite part of you job?

I love digging into logs, events, and alerts to look for malicious activities in our customer’s environments.

What are some cool projects you’ve seen our clients do with Apex’s services/products?

It has been great to see our customers have advanced detection capabilities and a stronger security posture due to our layered security approach. We are almost immediately able to see many vulnerabilities and events that our customers were unaware of prior to onboarding with Apex.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

Helping our clients improve their security posture and protect their important assets and environments.

What are some of your hobbies outside of Apex?

I have been a homebrewer for about 15 years. I love the scientific aspects of the process, and pride in a product well made. I am also a pretty serious PC gamer when time permits.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself:

My first computer was a Tandy Color Computer II in the early/mid 1980’s. I used to code games from a magazine and save to an audio tape hooked up to the computer. The rest is history.
